My friend is searching for a book to train diabetic alert/service dogs. Anyone hear of such a book?

My friend is very good at obedience training of dogs, and is currently on the search for a book that teaches you How to Train Dogs to alert diabetics when their blood sugar is low. Her husband is Type I Diabetic, and they cannot afford to buy a already trained service dog. She said she found a book online on a dog book website, but can’t remember the book name, or what site she saw it on. If anyone can help with this, Id really appreciate it. I have been searching for 2 days to try to find a book about this, but all I keep coming up with is sites for people who train the dogs and sell them for very high prices. Thanks!
Cherie

No, these dogs must be trained and certified as service dogs by a state agency that deals with disabilities. Look in your local phone book. There are support groups that can provide you with financial assistance in securing one of these dogs. The names of these vary from state to state, so I couldn’t tell you which one. One such group here in KY is "Paws with a Purpose." Call any vet’s office and they should be able to tell you.
