i want to train my dog how to find pot. how do i go about teaching this to her?
shes year old an shes a pure bred jack russel. this dog is really really intellegent. picks up a trick only a couple times of teaching her. and i want to teach her so i can find it when my kids have pot in the house
she also like to use her nose alot. she sniffs everything out. i dont know how to teach her to sniff out a specific sent though

Unless you are a horrible person trying to vigil anti your kids then, why are you doing this?

you donate her to the police and they train her.

An average person cannot own a drug-trained dog.

This type of training starts at puppyhood and takes about two years. So does service training. Talk to professional dog trainers. Most dogs that start this training never finish, as most are not cut out for that type of thing.

Might I ask why?

Edit: As far as finding pot your kids might have, you are entitled to go through their rooms, as it’s your house. If you suspect something is going on, feel free to search their rooms yourself. I don’t think having the dog find it is a good idea, because your kids may do something to get rid of the dog.

Then beat their hind ends if you do find it.

Every five minutes or so, for about half an hour a day, blow a lungful of bong smoke in her face. Seriously, I know that sounds stupid, but it actually works. After approx. ten weeks she will begin to instantly recognize the scent of hashish.

Go to your local police station, and ask about it. Police dogs are trained to sniff out drugs.

I think I have an idea. Let her sniff a scent, like drugs. Have another sample, close by in a container, and a few other containers with other scents. Have her find the right scent thing, and give her a treat. Keep doing stuff like that, and she should be able to sniff out drugs really easily.
